Elsevier Science Publishers.
Many Foundation Engineering books now in print cover the major topics
are directed towards providing a hands-on type of approach to design engineers.
The goal of this book is somewhat different, in what it provides a
state-of-the-art review of the advances made in understanding the behaviour of
earth-retaining and earth-supported structures. Most of the material is drawn
from the open literature and the list of references is mentioned at the end of
each chapter. The text is liberally illustrated.
It is the author’s hope that this text will be useful to students,
researchers, and practising geotechnical engineers.
