TANCET EXAM RESULTS & COUNSELLING UPDATES

TANCET 2017 – Anna University has conducted TANCET 2017
on March 26 for the M.Tech aspirants of the state of Tamilnadu. The entrance
exam was objective in nature and conducted in pen and paper based mode across
15 exam cities. TANCET Result 2017 has been declared on April 11, 2017.
Candidates who have valid scores in GATE as specified by the university will be
exempt from the TANCET 2017 exam. GATE XE /XL candidates have to appear for the
TANCET exam even if they have valid GATE scores. The University had announced
the detailed syllabus and all the requisite information pertaining to the
TANCET exam on January 30, 2017. The TANCET application form 2017 was available
from January 29, 2017 until February 28, 2017. Candidates may note that
the counselling for the TANCET qualified candidates will be done through the
TANCA 2017 which will be held tentatively in May after the declaration of the

must appear for the entrance test and qualify in the same to participate in the
common counselling that will be held through TANCA.
GATE qualified candidates are exempt from appearing for TANCET if
they have valid GATE scores above the GATE cutoff for TANCET. Candidates with
valid GATE 2015/ 2016/ 2017 are eligible to apply for the admissions.
Candidates who have valid GATE 2017 scores in GATE XL or XE
papers will be required to appear for the TANCET 2017 exam. Their GATE scores
will not be considered for exemption.

Result 2017
TANCET 2017 result has been announced on April 11, 2017. Candidates will
be able to see their marks and their performance details. However, for
admission purposes, they will require the marks sheet which is also available
with the result. Candidates can check their TANCET Result here after entering
their Email and password to log in.
TANCET Marks Sheet 2017
The Marks sheet for the TANCET candidates is also available along with
TANCET Result. Candidates must log in and download their TANCET Marks sheet 2017.
They must take a printout to submit the same during the counselling and
admission process.
The TANCET 2017 Rank will be deduced after the normalization of the
marks obtained by the candidates in the TANCET 2017 exam. The normalization
will be obtained as per the following formula:
Normalised marks = 40 + (10/s) (r – m) where m is the mean mark and s is
the standard deviation of raw marks which is denoted by r. This gives the
relative ranking of the candidates in any discipline.
TANCET
Cutoff 2017
The cutoff for TANCET will be the minimum score that has to be obtained
by candidates to qualify in the exam as well as for admissions to the various
M.Tech courses. While the qualifying TANCET Cutoff 2017 will be determined by
Anna University, the admission cutoffs for TANCET 2017 will be dependent upon
the institute, course, number of applicants, seat intake etc. Check the TANCET

TANCET
Counselling 2017 through TANCA 2017
Counselling for the M.tech admissions will be through TANCA 2017 which
is the Tamilnadu Common Admissions 2017. Admissions will be through two
channels – one for the GATE qualified candidates and one for the TANCET 2017
qualified candidates.
Application forms will be separate for both these categories of students
and so will the merit lists. After the counselling schedules are announced,
candidates will have to attend the TANCA 2017 process for verification of their
documents, seat allotment and confirmation of the admission process.

TANCET Hall
Ticket 2017
The TANCET Hall Ticket 2017 was available for download from March 14,
2017. To download the hall ticket to appear for the TANCET exam, candidates had
to log in. They were required to carry the same to the exam centre as their
identity to appear for the exam. The hall ticket will also be required to be
submitted during the admission process so candidates must safe keep the same.
In case candidates had misplaced or lost the hall ticket, they were
required to apply for a duplicate one by paying Rs 100/- via a Demand Draft
favouring The Secretary, TANCET, Anna University, Chennai – 600 025, payable at
Chennai. This had to be accompanied with a written request with details of the
candidate’s TANCET 2017 Registration No. / Application No. and the name of the
Examination Centre.

Eligibility Criteria 2017
All applicants must note that they must meet the prescribed
eligibility of the TANCET exam failing which their applications will not be
considered. The following are the generalised eligibility criteria for TANCET
2017 which detail the qualifying degree acceptable and considered, pass

GATE 2015/
2016/ 2017 candidates are eligible for exemption from TANCET 2017 if they
have valid GATE scores.
However
GATE candidates of XE or XL papers will have to appear for the TANCET 2017
exam.

Application Form 2017
Registrations for TANCET 2017 is now closed. The application form was
available online and the candidates were able to register themselves from
January 29, 2017. Candidates had to log in after registration to fill the
details in the TANCET 2017 Application Form. Candidates must follow the steps
given below to fill the TANCET Application Form.
Step 1 – Registration: Candidates must register by
entering their Name, Email Id, Date of Birth and mobile no to register. They
must also specify the password of their preference to create their login
ID.
Step 2 – Logging in and filling details in the TANCET Application
Form: 
Candidates must enter their personal details, opt
for the exam centre of their choice, select the TANCET 2017 exam they are
appearing for as well as the TANCET 2017 Paper they will be appearing in. They
must also enter their address details and upload a recent passport size
photograph in .jpg/.jpeg format in a file with size of 20KB to 30KB.
Step 3 – Paying the Application fees: Candidates
must pay the application fees online only through Net banking, Debit/Credit
Cards.

Step 4 – Submission of application and printout: The TANCET
2017 Application form has to be submitted after verification of the details
